About the role
The Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO) is located in Yukon, OK. Hours vary based on business needs, typically Monday-Friday 0700-1530.
Responsibilities
- Represent the Joint Venture in all individual Hospital Laboratory site daily management.
- Ensure the Joint Venture meets expectations to deliver quality control standards and establish, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures.
- Collect and analyze data and prepare a variety of analyses and reports.
- Perform duties as leader of the daily hospital laboratory activities.
- Perform duties as a hospital department head, including representing the laboratory in hospital functional and leadership meetings.
- Ensure Laboratory Technical staff are effectively performing duties meeting both hospital expectations and the expectations of the Joint Venture.
- Oversee staffing of all technical and non-technical personnel in the laboratory.
- Plan, assign, and direct work in the laboratory, including oversight of staff schedules and payroll duties.
- Mentor and support employees in their responsibilities in QC, testing, and ensure they receive training in supervisory skill development.
- Work closely with Regional Manager, Point of Care Staff, Hospital Nursing Staff, and Hospital Administration.
- Work closely with DLO QA to ensure compliance with QA program.
- Able to meet physician's needs by problem-solving and resolving their concerns.
- Attend meetings as needed by the hospital, including but not limited to Huddles, Inspection teams, Patient Care, and Med Quality as required by the hospital.
- Review Quality Control records weekly and monthly.
- Able to follow implemented QA program.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Medical Technology to meet CLIA standards for a laboratory supervisor.
- Demonstrate a broad knowledge of the technical aspects of the tests performed: Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Serology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Blood Bank.
- Demonstrate a willingness to stay abreast of the latest innovations in test methodologies.
- Variated shifts to meet staffing needs.
- 5 or more years’ managerial experience in the laboratory industry. Prior managerial experience is preferred but not required.
- MT(ASCP) or equivalent certification.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills to gain cooperation with other departments and foster continuous improvements.
- Be flexible and available based on staffing requirements, including weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Able to address client concerns and employees in a professional manner.
- Make independent decisions and handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Able to organize and lead projects both within the work group and with cross-functional groups.
