About the role

The Division Support Specialist, STEM Science at The College of DuPage supports the management of the Division disciplines and Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. This role collaborates with department and discipline chairs, subject to Dean approval, and monitors enrollment, faculty loads, and curriculum changes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a draft of the course schedule in collaboration with department and discipline chairs, subject to Dean approval.
  • Monitor enrollment as per direction of Dean, making recommendations regarding course additions and cancellations while working closely with Centralized Scheduling Office.
  • Maintain and update program websites, as appropriate.
  • Manage and maintain advisory committee database with agendas/minutes.
  • Track adjunct faculty completion of roster verification midterm, final grades, and attendance.
  • Provide accurate and timely responses to student inquiries regarding Division courses or programs.
  • Refer students as appropriate.
  • Track student admission/program participation and progression/graduation requirements, as required by division.
  • Supervise Classified Staff and Student Workers as needed.
  • Understand and assist students with the college math placement policies and prepare waivers, as needed, for the division chair or dean.
  • Monitor budget, including year-end reconciliation, and initiate purchasing activities, where appropriate.
  • Serve as a liaison to IT, admissions, and high school partners for the Math Transitions program.
  • Participate in program specific events, marketing activities, meetings and committees, including STEM specific initiatives like Math Transitions as needed.
  • Monitor student admission/program participation and progression/graduation requirements, as required by division.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the mission of the College and success of disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline required.
  • Bachelor's degree in one of the above disciplines preferred.
  • Three (3) years in one or more related discipline or equivalent experience required.
  • Five (5) years related to discipline; college-level teaching experience or equivalent experience preferred.
