About the role

The Engineering Support Specialist plays a crucial role in controlling and distributing engineering specifications, supporting the maintenance of the Bill of Materials (BOM) database, and providing day-to-day support to the Engineering and R&D teams.

Responsibilities

  • Control, maintain, and distribute engineering specifications in an organized and timely manner.
  • Assist in maintaining the Bill of Materials (BOM) database, including processing engineering changes and performing periodic audits to ensure data accuracy.
  • Support the maintenance and accuracy of product data in Oracle, Product Data Hub (PDH), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D and engineering teams to ensure product data and documentation remain current and consistent across systems.
  • Maintain both electronic and paper files, ensuring proper organization, version control, and accessibility for internal stakeholders.
  • Disseminate information and documentation to internal and external clients in a clear, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Compose professional business correspondence for internal and external distribution, including updates related to engineering changes and product data.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical documents to support accurate data entry and document control.
  • Work effectively with all levels of internal management, staff, and external customers to resolve issues related to engineering data, BOMs, and documentation.
  • Demonstrate strong ethics, integrity, accountability, and dependability in handling sensitive engineering and product information.
  • Manage time and priorities effectively to meet deadlines associated with engineering changes, audits, and data updates.
  • Identify and help resolve problems related to product data, BOM structures, and documentation inconsistencies.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in file management, including maintaining electronic and paper files.
  • Experience in disseminating information for internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • History of regular and consistent attendance at work.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (subject to assessment).
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and Bill of Materials (BOM) structuring.
  • Ability to compose clear and professional business correspondence for internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as external customers.
  • Demonstrated ethics and integrity in handling engineering and product information.
  • Strong accountability, adaptability, flexibility, and dependability.
  • Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
