Engineering Support Specialist
Responsibilities
- Conducts ISO-17025 compliance audits.
- Performs vehicle emissions and dynamometer testing with faculty and staff.
- Supports automotive research and testing activities in support of the Bus Testing Center.
- Purchases and specifies equipment required for research and testing.
- Ensures that test equipment is operating and calibrated in accordance with ISO-17025 accreditation standards.
- Provides safety training, performs safety inspections, and ensures compliance with all University safety policies.
- Performs basic mechanical, electronic, and electrical design and fabrication.
- Trains staff and technical service employees in the performance of test procedures and the operation of test equipment.
- Reviews, performs, and revises automotive testing procedures, data collection, processing, and reporting activities.
Requirements
- Average 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Associate Degree.
- Required Certifications: None.

- Ability to operate a motor vehicle as a part of job duties.

Pay
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $65,508.00 - $94,980.00.
Schedule
This position is funded for 12 months; continuation past 12 months will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
