IT Support Specialist (Scientific Computing)

Responsibilities
- Providing user-support of equipment throughout the department, including desktops, workstations, and the various labs. This support includes software installation and hardware maintenance.
- Maintaining and modifying VLAN assignments of port, network access control, and other security-related issues for network equipment.
- Mentoring and training student workers assigned to system administration tasks.
- Assisting in the operational management of the computing facilities in the department.
- Assisting in the development of new or improved instructional and research technologies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience. (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to four years.)

An individual who is flexible, adapts easily to the needs of multiple stakeholders, communicates effectively, is detail-oriented, enjoys problem-solving, and can organize tasks and meet deadlines. You enjoy seeing projects through to completion.

Anticipated Salary Range
The anticipated starting salary for this position is $44,056.00, commensurate with experience and education.
