Job Summary
As a Division Specialty Nurse Educator at HCA, you will have all the staffing support, technology, and resources needed to deliver safe, high-quality care. You will participate in the development, coordination, and management of onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
Qualifications
- Participates in the development, coordination, and management of competency-based educational activities.
- Designs and identifies educational activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences, including licensed and non-licensed healthcare personnel.
- Develops activities to achieve specific outcomes related to identified deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill, and practice.
- Promotes and integrates Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) in order to continuously improve practice.
- Conducts, encourages, facilitates, and/or participates in research, EBP, and Quality Improvement (QI) in patient care settings.
- Identifies and develops strategies to facilitate a continuous process of maturation through lifelong learning.
- Utilizes the novice-to-expert continuum when developing staff and provides opportunities for skill enhancement and mastery.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
- A Master’s degree in nursing is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in clinical education, CSC, academia, or leadership is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in acute care hospital settings, particularly in Critical Care (ICU, CCU, ER), is preferred.
- Currently licensed as an RN in the state of practice or has an active compact state license.
- Nationally Recognized Specialty certification is preferred.
- Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in a Critical Care setting (ICU, CCU, ER).
- At least 2 years of experience in Pediatrics.
