Job Summary

As a Division Specialty Nurse Educator at HCA, you will have access to all the staffing support, technology, and resources necessary to deliver safe, high-quality care. This role requires participation in the development, coordination, and management of onboarding and orientation programs, as well as the facilitation and evaluation of competency.

Qualifications

  • Participates in the development, coordination, and management of onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
  • Provides orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust the program based on evaluation results.
  • Develops educational activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences, including licensed and non-licensed healthcare personnel, in alignment with HCA and division clinical education request and development processes.
  • Conducts, encourages, facilitates, and/or participates in research, Evidence-Based Practice (EBP), and Quality Improvement (QI) in patient care settings.
  • Promotes and integrates EBP to continuously improve practice.
  • Identifies and develops strategies to facilitate a continuous process of maturation through lifelong learning.
  • Utilizes the novice-to-expert continuum when developing staff.
  • Identifies and provides opportunities for skill enhancement and mastery.

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
  • A Master’s degree in nursing is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in clinical education, CSC, academia, or leadership is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in acute care hospital is preferred.
  • Currently licensed as an RN in the state of practice or has an active compact state license in accordance with law and regulation.
  • Nationally Recognized Specialty certification is preferred.
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a Critical Care setting (ICU, CCU, ER) is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Pediatrics is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% is required.
