About the role

At IU Health, you will develop your career in significant ways, advancing healthcare and delivering the highest level of patient care. As a Pediatric Emergency Department nurse at IU Health North hospital, you will collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and child life specialists to provide excellent, compassionate care to patients with neurological, cardiac, respiratory, orthopedic, endocrine, urinary, gastrointestinal, and integumentary complaints.

  • Strong clinical judgment and independence in a small, high-responsibility 8-bed unit
  • Close collaboration with highly engaged leaders who work in scrubs and support bedside care

Unit successes include being the preferred pediatric clinical site for 3 nursing schools, zero hospital-acquired infections or harm events in 2022 and 2023, and Magnet re-designation in 2023.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of RN experience
  • Associate of Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program (exceptions considered for candidates with over two years of acute care experience, subject to CNO approval)
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
  • Basic Life Support certification through the AHA; other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty
