Division Chief - Vascular Surgery
About the role
The Division Chief of Vascular Surgery at Creighton University Medical Center CHI Health will lead an established high volume group encompassing a wide breadth of vascular surgical cases in the setting of a large established referral base. This leader will be instrumental in expanding clinical, surgical, research, and educational activities in conjunction with the Department of Surgery and Cardiovascular Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership to grow an adult Vascular Surgery Division in all of its domains, partnering with outstanding colleagues and forward-thinking, dynamic academic and business leadership.
- Engage in resident activity with the department of surgery, particularly at the academic flagship University Medical Center and Level I Trauma Center.
- Collaborate with scientists within CommonSpirit and Creighton University School of Medicine on scholarly and educational activities, ideally at the level of Assistant to Associate Professor.
- Lead clinical and educational initiatives, including teaching Creighton University’s surgical residents and medical students.
- Conduct research in collaboration with scientists within CommonSpirit and Creighton University School of Medicine.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification or eligibility in Vascular Surgery
- Active or eligible license in the state of Nebraska
- Strong clinical skills with experience in programmatic development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care
- Clinical and leadership experience and ideally academic activities commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at Creighton University School of Medicine
