Division Chief, Sleep Medicine

About the role

The Department of Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School at Old Dominion University (EVMS-ODOU) invites applications for the position of Division Chief of Sleep Medicine. This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated academic clinician-educator to provide leadership to a growing division within a dynamic and collaborative academic medical environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership in clinical operations, mentor residents, fellows, and faculty, and contribute meaningfully to medical education across undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Direct and enhance the educational mission, including leadership of the Sleep Medicine Fellowship.
• Oversee clinical activities and ensure high-quality, patient-centered sleep care.
• Participate in scholarly activity consistent with academic rank and interests.

Requirements

• MD or DO with board certification or eligibility in Sleep Medicine.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in an academic or academic-affiliated setting.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Demonstrated commitment to education, clinical excellence, and academic leadership.
• Experience with fellowship training and curriculum development is highly desirable.

Qualifications

Pay

The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant, Associate Professor or Professor, commensurate with experience and qualifications, with opportunities for leadership development within the Department of Medicine.
