About the Role
This role is based in either Columbus, Cincinnati, or Dayton, Ohio. The District Sales Manager is responsible for carrying out sales objectives, implementing sales and account strategies as set by management, and achieving results in a matrix sales organization. Key responsibilities include discovering, developing, and realizing project opportunities, soliciting new customers and contractors to increase product demand, and cultivating long-term relationships with key account decision-makers.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of sales and account strategies aligned with corporate goals.
- Develop and implement Key Account Plans for strategic accounts to exceed revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction expectations.
- Increase demand for company products by discovering and developing project opportunities, prospecting new business partners, and maintaining a cycle of scheduled customer visits based on CRM segmentation.
- Grow the customer and contractor database for the assigned territory.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with key account decision-makers and understand organizational structures and buying influences.
- Conduct sales calls and deliver professional presentations to cross-functional teams, architects, distributors, builders, developers, facility engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Communicate the value proposition effectively to various constituent groups to advance market growth.
- Manage annual sales plans and strategic account plans to achieve market penetration across product lines.
- Collaborate with local independent manufacturer’s representative agencies as directed by the Regional Sales Manager.
- Travel to provide training and support as needed.
- Prioritize and follow up on leads from trade shows or other sources.
- Support cross-functional teams to ensure client deliveries are executed as agreed.
- Promote the adoption of EDI and VMI by distributors within the district and region.
- Maintain monthly sales reports, business metrics, and identify new business opportunities.
- Provide weekly updates and reports to management on field activity, sales, competitors, and forecasts.
- Track travel and incidental expenses, submitting reports on time and within budget.
- Utilize CRM/SAP Mobile Sales to document opportunities, sales call activities, customer links, and contractor rankings.
- Attend meetings as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; College Degree preferred.
- 3 years of product sales experience; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Valid and Active Driver’s License required.
Skills
- Proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SAP, and CRM.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.

Pay
Base salary: $84,357 to $110,718 USD annually, based on education, work experience, and geographic market.
This role is eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, with potential awards based on company and individual performance.
