Position Summary

The District Manager In Training (DMIT) position provides training for candidates to become successful District Managers. District Managers guide Store Managers to deliver an exceptional guest shopping experience, operational excellence, and a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build a strategic plan for the area including appropriate staffing levels, development, and performance management of all team personnel.
  • Oversee team engagement and productivity across multiple locations, fostering a supportive environment for team member retention and growth.
  • Demonstrate leadership by setting clear goals, holding self and others accountable, and communicating effectively.
  • Develop a strong leadership team by hiring or promoting store management candidates, ensuring ongoing training, coaching, and feedback, and leading by example.
  • Analyze financial reports, P&L, and conduct gap analysis to evaluate and disseminate data for strategic gains, coaching Store Managers towards improved profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with regional, divisional, and company standards regarding store conditions, promotions, operations, and financial controls; monitor guest satisfaction and product quality, manage safety and security.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Region Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: High School or GED
  • Preferred Education: College degree in business or a closely related field
  • Minimum Experience: 10 years retail experience, restaurant general management experience
  • Successful completion of the DMIT Program
  • 1-3 years multi-unit experience in c-store or restaurant environment
  • Licenses/Certifications: Clean driving record
  • Soft Skills: Excellent team building and leadership practices, strong communication and interpersonal skills, organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and ability to learn additional programs, multitasking, prioritizing, handling issues constructively, strong analytical skills
  • Travel: 95% traveling from location to location
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to maneuver and lift up to 40 pounds, stand/walk 8 hours a day, reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, grasp and grip
