About the role
We are seeking a District Manager to join our team in Philadelphia. This is a highly hands-on field leadership role for someone passionate about restaurant operations, leadership development, and building great teams. The District Manager will be responsible for developing General Managers, driving operational excellence, supporting new shop growth, and ensuring our culture comes to life in every location.
Responsibilities
- Directly support and develop General Managers and hourly Shop Leaders across multiple Philadelphia-area shops
- Work manager shifts shoulder to shoulder with our shop teams
- Communicate and reinforce the vision, culture, and standards of Call Your Mother, ensuring exceptional execution in every shop, every day
- Spend significant time in shops coaching leaders and working alongside teams to improve operations, hospitality, food quality, and team performance
- Train and mentor leaders on scheduling, labor management, hiring, inventory controls, food safety, and financial performance
- Partner with General Managers to build strong teams, create succession plans, and develop future leaders at every level
- Conduct regular business reviews focused on P&L performance, guest feedback, operational opportunities, and growth plans
- Support leaders in resolving facilities, maintenance, technology, staffing, and operational challenges
- Foster a culture of accountability, development, belonging, and high performance
- Drive sales growth and profitability through operational excellence, innovation, and disciplined execution
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, organization, and hospitality
- Represent Call Your Mother in the Philadelphia community through local partnerships, events, and neighborhood engagement
- Serve as a calm, confident problem solver during high-pressure situations and operational challenges
Requirements
- 2+ years of multi-unit leadership experience, including at least 2 years in a quick-service, fast-casual, or high-volume restaurant environment
- Equally comfortable reviewing a P&L and jumping behind the line to support a busy shift
- Believe the best leaders are visible, present, and willing to do any job they ask others to do
- A proven track record of attracting, developing, and retaining high-performing teams
- Strong financial acumen, including labor management, inventory controls, scheduling, food cost management, and P&L ownership
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and can identify trends and opportunities to improve performance
- Hospitality-focused and passionate about creating memorable guest experiences
- Lead with humility, confidence, accountability, and a strong sense of ownership
- Thrives in fast-paced environments and brings calm, clarity, and decisiveness when challenges arise
- Exceptional communicator, coach, and relationship builder who can influence at all levels of the organization
Qualifications
- Care deeply about culture and understand that great guest experiences start with great team experiences
- Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and frequently bending and reaching overhead
- The role requires manual dexterity to handle tools and equipment, the ability to work in temperatures ranging from hot to cold, and occasional work in tight spaces or outdoor weather conditions
- Employees must maintain near-constant communication with multiple individuals, possess close, distance, and peripheral vision, and be able to occasionally sit, squat, and kneel
- The position also requires working in a constant state of alertness while adhering to safe work practices
