About the role

The Appoquinimink School District is seeking a highly skilled and motivated School Psychologist to join our team in a unique hybrid role. Responsibilities

  • Utilize Data-based Decision Making
  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments
  • Develop effective interventions, services, and programs
  • Engage in consultation and collaboration with individuals, families, groups, and systems
  • Implement and evaluate services that support academic skill development
  • Design, implement, and evaluate services that promote resilience and positive behaviors
  • Support socialization, social-emotional learning, and adaptive skills
  • Develop and implement practices and strategies to create and maintain safe, effective, and supportive learning environments
  • Promote preventive and responsive services that enhance learning, mental and behavioral health, and psychological and physical safety
  • Serve as a facilitator of Manifestation Determination IEP meetings
  • Facilitate family and school partnerships and interactions with community agencies
  • Provide services consistent with ethical, legal, and professional standards

Requirements

  • Must be eligible for State of Delaware Certification as a School Psychologist AND eligible for certification in the state of physical residence
  • Thorough knowledge of IDEA/504 and the IEP process
  • Knowledge and ability to interpret psychometric measures and monitor progress through data collection
  • Knowledge and ability to conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and develop Positive Behavior Support Plans
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and technical skills

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of best practices in special education
  • Thorough knowledge of psychometric measures and data collection
  • Ability to interpret and monitor progress through data collection
  • Knowledge and ability to conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and develop Positive Behavior Support Plans
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and technical skills
  • Criminal background check, Tuberculin testing, and health verification

Pay

The Annual Stipend for this role is $7,500, spread out over the school year in 26 pays.

Schedule

The School Psychologist will work remotely approximately 75% of the teacher work year, with the expectation of in-person work for about one week each month, or roughly 25% of the teacher work year.
