Responsibilities
- Ensures the reviews of building system trades’ progress for compliance with drawings, specifications, quality, schedule, and constructability. Identifies risks and opportunities across multiple projects or pursuits.
- Reviews and understands prime contract and building systems subcontract details. Identifies and communicates risks and opportunities to the project team and ensures contract management of the trade contractors.
- Reviews and negotiates change notices/orders related to building systems and assesses their effect on the project budget, scope, schedule, and forecasts.
- Liaises with utility providers to provide services to project as per project schedule and addresses challenges, as required.
- Consults with building systems managers across the organization regarding best practices or project issues.
- Supervises, directs, coaches, trains, and mentors building systems employees daily.
- Effectively communicates with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues. Provides technical background and assistance when resolving disputes and litigation.
- Develops and maintains strong customer focused relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Tradesperson or postsecondary diploma/degree in a related discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical, controls) is preferred.
- 12 to 15 years of progressive construction experience in positions leading to district building systems manager, including experience as a building systems manager.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering systems, principles, and practices.
- Knowledge of relevant construction law and associated impacts, and ability to apply building codes, as required.
- Advanced understanding of the change process in relation to cost/pricing and schedule impact, with the ability to track building systems change orders.
- Ability to direct and enforce installation priorities to trades as per the schedule.
- Ability to manage contractual obligations and responsibilities related to building systems.
- Uses effective verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of decision-making authority and ability to present solutions.
Pay
The estimated salary range for this role is $142,000 - $160,000 annually, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
