Distribution Clerk
Job Description
The Distribution Clerk is responsible for all tasks that involve receiving, storage, charging, and distribution of supplies and equipment.
- Performs stocking and replenishment of life saving code carts and other lifesaving apparatuses.
- Responsible for rotating stock, checking for and removing any upcoming expired expiration dates.
- Performs scanning inventory on assigned inpatient units using handheld inventory scanner.
- Responsible for making and maintaining isolation caddies and kits.
- Responsible for the pickup and cleaning and sanitation of hospital equipment in adherence to Joint commission and infection control standards.
- Performs restocking of high usage supplies stocked outside of patient rooms in nurse server TLC’s and several clean holdings.
- Uses Pneumatic tube station. Includes computer, verbal, and written transactions.

- Will be working with staff of different skill levels. While performing job functions related to replenishment of supplies, individual may access medication storage areas.
- Will be trained on use of dept. phone and proper response to questions from a wide range of staff including nurses, RT, EVS, AA etc. Will be trained to know which dept. to contact for specific needs.
- Reads and responds to emails in a timely manner.
- May be called upon to mentor new staff as needed to assist dept. needs.
- Become familiar with routes and locations to ensure proper deliveries.
- Will perform tasks using copier and printer machines cisco portable and desk phones.
- Delivers excellent customer service related to patient care and visitors using the AIDET method.
Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions and established procedures.
- Good communication skills and the ability to set priorities as necessary.
- Ability to use a computer.
- Ability to work in a high stress labor intensive work environment.
- Use of pallet jack, handheld palm pilot, excel and Microsoft preferred.
- Ability to use and operate cisco portable and desk phones using transfer methods for customer service purposes preferred.
