DISPATCHER-POLICE
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Sends and receives radio transmissions from sworn and non-sworn field units and surrounding agencies.
- Answers the telephone and determines the form of assistance required.
- Affirms units within the department respond or refer the call to other sources for resolution.
- Performs multi-tasking priorities.
- Maintains knowledge of all required department policies and procedures.
- Operates the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center/National Crime Information Center (ACJIC/NCIC) terminal and becomes certified on the same.
- Operates equipment in the Communications Center.
- Rotates on all shifts and all days of the week, at the discretion of the Communications Supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- The ability to type at a speed of twenty-five (25) words per minute is required.
