About the role
The Dispatcher is responsible for organizing daily equipment dispatches, ensuring compliance with safety and legal standards.
Responsibilities
- Scheduling delivery and pickup routes for efficiency
- Cooking with Rental Coordinators on rental contracts and paperwork
- Working with Yard Attendants to prepare units and vehicles for loading
- Performing inventory control and vehicle inspections
- Communicating with customers about equipment deliveries
- Conducting safety meetings and reviewing DOT paperwork
- Tracking vehicle repairs, registrations, and ensuring compliance
- Collecting and distributing driver paperwork upon return
- Performing other assigned duties
Qualifications and Skills
- A high school diploma with at least two years of dispatch experience, preferably in construction or industrial equipment
- Experience as a truck driver is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with mainframe databases is advantageous
- Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds and tolerate exposure to environmental elements
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills; positive attitude and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
