Dispatcher

Job Responsibilities

• Develop delivery routes and maintain contact with drivers throughout the day
• Communicate with management to modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of customers
• Act as a communication liaison between the customer and the driver
• Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last minute schedule changes
• Monitor any sudden route changes, road conditions or road construction issues and work with drivers to establish new routes for timely deliveries
• Ensure driver knows how much product to be pulling
• Make sure driver knows what product he/she should be pulling
• Use Samsara to track drivers and dispatch effectively

Requirements

• Strong organizational skills and excellent follow-through
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Timeliness and promptness with scheduling and dispatching
• Ability to think quickly and make necessary changes to routes and schedules
• Show initiative to continue learning and develop skills
• Uphold Dooley’s Petroleum Inc.’s policies and procedures to meet company standards

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of dispatching experience
• Prior use of Samsara e-log software preferred
