About the role

Transdev in Chicago, IL is seeking a Dispatcher to oversee road service through communication with Operators and provide customer support to clients. We are looking for customer service-oriented professionals dedicated to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee road service assigned to carriers by tracking trip performance measures, route punctuality, incidents, and other key metrics.
  • Provide customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding customer trips, including no-shows, cancellations, and missed trips.
  • Manage emergency situations for vehicle operators; act as a liaison between the carrier and emergency services.
  • Review daily route performance and proactively address situations that impact customer service.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; Technical Degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of dispatching experience.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical, if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Physical Requirements

  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions—100% of the job is performed outside, often alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances on potentially sloped, slippery, or uneven surfaces.
  • Push and pull objects occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to access files or equipment stored at ground level.
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing duties; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.

Pay

Competitive compensation package ranging from $18.45/hour to $22.55/hour.
