About the Role
The primary function of a dispatcher is to direct and coordinate the ordering and delivery of materials to customers in day-to-day operations. The Dispatcher adheres to and promotes corporate policies and manages the general use of equipment, trucks, delivery personnel, and materials. This role directs all activities concerning delivery, warehouse, and facilities.
Responsibilities
- Process sales orders quickly and accurately, set up job information, confirm orders, and generate appropriate reports to support sales order processing.
- Process credit memos on the computer.
- Assist customers with will-call orders.
- Supervise stocking crews, conduct performance reviews, employee orientation, and coordinate driver training.
- Schedule and dispatch crews to maximize time efficiency and monitor labor costs on each job.
- Compute payroll accurately and on time.
- Train new stockers on how to perform their jobs safely and correctly.
- Complete new hire and training paperwork in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with the VCR program.
- Oversee the triple count and job completer program.
- Maintain cleanliness of the front counter, office/dispatch area, restrooms, and yard/warehouse.
- Ensure trucks are clean.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner.
Requirements
- High school diploma (required).
- College degree (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to quickly and accurately perform basic math.
- Ability to read a road/geographical map and communicate directions efficiently.
- Demonstrated organizational skills in job performance.
- Ability to follow instructions with limited guidance.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 80% of the time.
- Occasional movement inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
