Essential Duties
- Open the transportation office each morning.
- Maintain and update driver schedules.
- Ensure drivers report to work and complete required paperwork.
- Assign substitute drivers and coordinate special transportation needs, including field trips and athletic events.
- Answer phones, communicate via two-way radio, and provide transportation updates to schools and families.
- Assist with route planning and scheduling.
- Monitor GPS tracking and daily transportation operations.
- Cookordination with the Corvallis School District and transportation partners.
- Ensure daily vehicle inspections and cleaning requirements are completed.
- Work with maintenance staff to schedule vehicle service and repairs.
- Report operational concerns to the Operations Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Dispatching, transportation, or scheduling experience preferred.
- Experience with Traversa, Zonar, or My Ride K-12 is a plus.
Additional Information
- After transitioning into the permanent role, this position may participate in on-call coverage for emergencies and special transportation needs.
- During winter weather events, early morning road assessments may be required to assist with school delay or closure recommendations.
Pay
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Schedule
Temporary training schedule of approximately 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (30-minute lunch). Upon successful transition to the permanent role, schedule will become full-time, 5:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
