Dispatcher

Responsibilities

• Dispatches various types of vehicles and equipment (e.g., truck tractors, stake trucks, vans, sedans, pickups, buses, material handling equipment) using an automated or manual system.
• Maintains records of vehicle and equipment locations.
• Coordinates closely with GSA regarding future vehicle requirements and current vehicle repairs or service.
• Assigns appropriate drivers to requested vehicles to ensure efficient task completion.
• Verifies operator licensing and ensures accurate completion of trip ticket reports for each dispatch.
• Transports vehicles to and from authorized vendors and maintains related records.
• Operates weigh scales, weighs vehicles/trailers, issues weight certificates, and maintains weight records.
• Advises management of extraordinary requirements to support special tasks.
• Occasionally operates various types of vehicles if properly licensed.
• May be required to work weekends and/or holidays.
• Performs additional duties as assigned to meet company and departmental goals.
