DISPATCHER

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with drivers to maximize retention levels, increase on-time delivery percentages, and achieve top-tier customer service.
• Manage a high volume of calls from owner operators, lease purchase, and/or company drivers and prioritize calls.
• Communicate effectively and regularly with customers regarding issues, delays, etc.
• Receive and dispatch orders for pick-up and delivery.
• Enter data in the computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities, and other information.
• Ensure full compliance with administrative policies and federal and state regulatory requirements to mitigate safety risks and improve efficiency.
• Work one-on-one with the safety department on driver accidents and related matters.
• Keep accurate details on drivers’ trailers, including current and dropped trailers.
• Issue advances and comchecks to drivers.
• Report over, short, and damaged (OSD) freight to CSRs and/or the claims department.
• Update precise in and out times at shippers and receivers for drivers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• College degree in a related field preferred.
• Previous dispatch experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the trucking industry/refrigerated transportation is a plus.
• Active listener with excellent communication skills.
• Sound judgment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to recognize when immediate action is necessary and implement required actions within a reasonable time.

Schedule

Weekend Day Shift: Thursday through Sunday (7 am until 5 pm).

Pay

Yearly salary: $37,700–$45,700.
