Job Summary

Overland Ready Mixed is seeking a Dispatcher to join our team. The role involves coordinating manufacturing and delivery activities, adhering to safety protocols, and managing customer orders.

Overland Ready Mixed is part of NEBCO, a family-owned company with over 1,100 employees across Nebraska. NEBCO has been in operation since 1908 and is one of the most diversified privately-owned businesses in the state.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls, take orders, and ensure order accuracy.
• Dispatch drivers according to DOT FMCSA and NEBCO guidelines.
• Enter data into the Command Alkon dispatch system.
• Communicate with plant production and yard personnel to set delivery schedules.
• Prepare invoices, delivery tickets, and shipping documents.
• Assign drivers for scheduled deliveries and update customer statements.
• Maintain radio contact with drivers to expedite deliveries.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Three months related experience in customer service, dispatch, or similar roles
• Valid Driver's License
• Previous commercial driver's license is helpful but not required
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of Dispatch software and Order Processing Systems
• Good working knowledge of city layouts and weather forecasting
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure
• Self-motivated and willing to take initiative
• Flexible work schedule
• Ability to work in a confined workspace
• Basic math skills

Qualifications

• Previous dispatch experience is helpful
• Must have good problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask
• Good communication skills
• Ability to adapt to changes
