Dispatcher

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate driver schedule.
• Dispatch fleet at distribution center and related hubs ensuring that all routes are staffed appropriately.
• Track status of vehicles and equipment.
• Respond to driver calls, assist with breakdowns and accidents.
• Maintain accurate records on the movement of goods to store locations.
• Schedule drivers for next shift.
• Process PeopleNet trips from driver computers.
• Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation Hours of Service.
• Track over/under hours for route drivers.
• Create various reports (weekly mileage, fuel, late truck, etc.).
• Create Driver Route Books.
• Track delivery performance and advise stores and Member Services of any delays.
• Review timecards and PeopleNet for Drivers and Delivery Assistants and notify supervisor of discrepancies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2.1 - 3 Years of transportation industry experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations is required.
• Proficient computer knowledge (advanced preferred).
• Good mathematical skills.
• Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Team player.
• Flexible to varying work schedules.
