Dispatcher
Position Summary
Working under our Tier One Mechanical division, the Dispatcher enhances our ability to provide excellent customer service. As a Dispatcher, you will work in a team environment to provide exceptional service to customers in need of service on their commercial and industrial systems. You will create and schedule service work and coordinate any necessary details with service technicians and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and dispatch technicians to appropriate locations, according to company standards and customer requests, using online software, email and phones.
- Determine types or amounts of equipment, materials, or personnel required, according to work orders or specifications.
- Cookordinate with Field Supervisor accounting manager for needed supplies to ensure technicians are prepared before each days’ work orders on the schedule.
- Analyze information from service requests and evaluate the results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Record and maintain information on customer requests, work or services performed, invoice charges, maintenance agreements, or other dispatch information.
- Resolve customer complaints or answer customers' questions.
- Daily work order preparation and review for correctness (closing of work orders to produce billing and payroll hours) including confirmation of payroll times for technicians.
- Keep customers and technicians aware of status of orders and scheduling changes.
- Customer service representative duties to include handling incoming calls, scheduling appointments, follow up calls, promotion of planned maintenance.
- Filing and other clerical duties for the service department.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of dispatch experience in the plumbing industry.
- Knowledge of plumbing acumen, parts, components and accessories functions.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred
- 5+ years of dispatcher experience as a technician or technical support in the plumbing industry.
- Sales experience in the plumbing industry.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must have sufficient visual acuity to read printed and digital documents.
