Key Responsibilities
- Provides schedules and dispatches delivery crews in a safe and efficient manner while maximizing branch profitability
- Uses and maintains Department of Transportation (DOT) dispatch software to above-target FBM compliance percentage
- Communicates and distributes all delivery orders to branch warehouse and delivery staff
- Calls to confirm address, material, stocking conditions, and any other needed information on ALL deliveries BEFORE the truck leaves the FBM warehouse
- Manages the material accuracy/verification process for each truck pre-delivery
- Makes sure to report (as needed or requested) on labor costs for each delivery
- Establishes, builds, and maintains customer relationships
- Communicates effectively with customers, sales, and management regarding delivery statuses
- Communicates any concerns or issues directly to Branch Manager
- Attends all required meetings in relation to deliveries and overall company
- Supports our values in the stated areas of Safety, Customer Focus, Teamwork, integrity and being a Company of Choice for both employees and customers
- Adhered to all company policies and procedures, DOT and OSHA standards
Qualifications
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Building products knowledge strongly preferred
- Strong computer knowledge/data entry skills required
- Previous experience preferred
- Ability to quickly and accurately perform basic math skills
- Assertive – demonstrated ability to “take charge” and be pro-active when necessary
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated effective (polite, organized, questioning) telephone skills
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions with limited guidance
Compensation and Benefits
The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position; actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and cost of living in the assigned market. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits. Base: $23.00-$30.00 per hour
