About the role
Ambulnz by DocGo is seeking a Dispatcher to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for handling high-volume intake calls, prioritizing, and dispatching using CAD systems. The Dispatcher will also coordinate transport activities with field EMTs, provide courteous and friendly customer service, assign trips to the appropriate resources, and support billing activities.
Responsibilities
- Handle high-volume intake calls, prioritize, and dispatch using CAD systems
- Determine the appropriate level of care and coordinate transport activities with field EMTs
- Provide courteous, friendly service to medical facilities, the public, and fellow EMS staff
- Assign trips to the appropriate resources based on needs and availability
- Collect patient billing information and assist with pre-billing activities
- Other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of transportation dispatch experience (EMS dispatch preferred)
- Emergency Medical Technician - EMT experience
- Strong geographical knowledge of service areas
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
- Proficiency in typing (40-45 WPM) and data entry experience
- Familiarity with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
