Dispatcher

About the role

Assigns work for Company and owner operator trailer drivers for conveyance of freight.

Responsibilities

• Compiles and maintains list of available drivers.
• Assigns trucks according to availability, purpose of trip, and freight.
• Issues record sheets, and all related paperwork to drivers.
• Troubleshoots and notifies appropriate parties of any changes.
• Records time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return.
• Investigates overdue vehicles.
• Directs activities of drivers by two-way radio.
• Confers with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise.
• Heavy communication with drivers on a daily basis.
• Spanish fluency required.

Requirements

• Position is full time and on-site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay

The anticipated starting salary range is $27.00 – $30.00 per hour. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The final starting salary will be determined directly with the selected candidate(s) in accordance with all applicable laws.
