Dispatcher - Ambulance - Full Time

About the role

The position is based at the Fa Sanford Ambulance facility in Fargo, ND (2215 18th St S, Fargo, ND 58103).

Responsibilities

• Receive requests for ground medical transport.
• Initiate mobilization of the appropriate teams.
• Communicate with referring hospitals and services.
• Perform map reading and apply math skills.
• Complete documentation and data entry using a computer.
• Type any additional documentation as assigned.
• Remain flexible for staffing patterns.
• Maintain pride and ownership for the program.
• Perform data entry at the time of each call.
• Interact with patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric, during phone conversations.

Requirements

• Fulfill yearly continuing education requirements of the department.
• Complete orientation for various procedures and other in‑service training as required.
• Obtain International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) Certified Dispatcher certification within six months of hire.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record (location‑dependent).
• Be 18 years of age or older (additional approval required for those under 21).

Pay

Salary range: $23.13 – $37.83 per hour. Eligible for a new‑hire sign‑on bonus.

Schedule

Full‑time position with 42 hours per week; shift varies.
