DISPATCHER - Albina Asphalt Vancouver WA

Duties And/Or Responsibilities

• Takes and processes load orders; plans, organizes, and schedules load/delivery times; calls carriers; loads/unloads.
• Communicates with the Transportation Manager and/or other department managers regarding shipping/schedule issues.
• Supervises and directs the work of transport and spreader drivers.
• Communicates with the Terminal Managers and Maintenance Department to ensure current equipment work orders.
• Utilizes information from the Sales Department to maximize results.
• Processes and posts required information on delivery tickets for accurate invoice billing.
• Affords 24-hour phone coverage as needed, including "On-call" status for phone coverage during the week and weekends.
• Maintains records and files pertinent to DOT requirements, including equipment registrations and driver qualification files; notifies drivers of expired medical cards and commercial driver licenses.
• Affords assistance in maintaining department and company records, including drivers' logs, inspection reports, fuel usage, etc.
• May be assigned to perform additional duties within the transportation department, such as picking up or delivering drivers to repair facilities, picking up parts for company vehicles.
• Works safely and takes action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
