Dispatch Writer

About the role

Henner Tank Lines, Inc. – a premier contract carrier is looking for a motivated and professional Dispatch writer who works with the dispatcher to assist the day-to-day route operations. His/her duties involve daily communication and interaction with drivers and clients. He/she must also organize and conduct activities to assure safe, cost-effective, on-time operating performance of the drivers. We are Employee owned and LOCAL.

Responsibilities

• Answer all incoming phone calls promptly and courteously.
• Ability to handle high volume of phone calls.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work in a team environment in high pressure situations.
• Entering load information / create loads in dispatch system.
• Check customer emails and respond accordingly.
• Check dispatch board and maintain contact with drivers throughout the day.
• Ability to take on future work from the customer.
• Ability to learn inventory management systems.
• Willing to take on other job duties as assigned by management to support the team and business operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of customer service experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain composure under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective oral, written, and communication skills.
• Demonstrate a high customer service commitment in a professional manner.
• Knowledge of the California Bay Area is a plus.
• Positive, patient, and helpful attitude.

Pay

Compensation $22‑$26 DOE

Schedule

Shift AM (4 Days On / 3 Days Off Schedule) 6:30 am to 4:30 pm; Shift PM (4 Days On / 3 Days Off Schedule) 5:00 pm to 3:00 am
