About the role

The Grand Gardner Hotel is an independent boutique hotel in Downtown Valparaiso, IN, located on a quiet, tree-lined street just steps from downtown. It offers 58 rooms and suites, a speakeasy, banquet space, and shared spaces designed to foster a welcoming atmosphere for both guests and employees.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, cookware, utensils, glassware, and kitchen equipment used in restaurant and banquet operations.
• Aid the culinary team in ensuring clean, organized, and properly stocked work areas while adhering to health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Assist with kitchen cleanliness, waste removal, and the proper storage of cleaned items to support efficient daily operations and exceptional guest experiences.

Requirements

• Dependable and service-focused personality.
• Detail-oriented with a preference for a fast-paced team environment.
• Ability to stand for 8 hours, perform repetitive tasks, work safely around cleaning chemicals and kitchen equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization.

Qualifications

• Previous dishwashing or food service experience is helpful but not required.

Pay

$14.68/hour

Schedule

This part-time position is expected to work approximately 15–25 hours per week, with evening, weekend, and holiday availability preferred.
