DISABILITY INSURANCE PROGRAM MANAGER I
About the Role
The Employment Development Department (EDD) is seeking a Disability Insurance Program Manager I to provide leadership for one or more field office units in San Bernardino County. This role ensures services are delivered in compliance with laws, policies, and procedures governing the Disability Insurance Program, emphasizing program integrity and proper duration control.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership for one or more field office units.
- Ensures compliance with laws, policies, and procedures governing the Disability Insurance Program.
- Emphasizes program integrity and proper duration control.
- Develops and maintains staff to ensure proper processing of workload within budgetary limitations.
- Supports continuous capacity building for all unit staff.
- Encourages open, two-way communication.
- Assists in maintaining a marketing program, including educating and partnering with program customers.
- Manages office budget processes.
- Complies with system security, internal control, and employee safety requirements.
- May serve as office manager in the manager’s absence.
- Acts as a coach and role model to the management team and all staff.
- Supports the Branch and Department vision, mission, values, and goals.
Requirements
- State application (STD 678) is required.
- Duties must be listed on the STD 678; resumes and/or cover letters do not substitute.
- Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required.
- Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification.
Qualifications
Candidates must have list eligibility for the Disability Insurance Program Manager I classification or be eligible for lateral transfer, reinstatement, or other specified eligibility types. SROA and Surplus candidates are given priority.

Schedule
Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Telework is available, subject to department discretion and business needs.
