DISABILITY INSURANCE PROGRAM MANAGER I
About the role
The Disability Insurance Program Manager I position is responsible for providing leadership for one or more field office units, ensuring services are delivered in compliance with laws, policies, and procedures governing the Disability Insurance Program, and supporting continuous capacity building for all unit staff.
Responsibilities
- Ensures services are delivered in compliance with laws, policies, and procedures governing the Disability Insurance Program.
- Emphasizes program integrity and proper duration control.
- Develops and maintains staff to ensure proper processing of workload while operating within budgetary limitations.
- Supports continuous capacity building for all unit staff.
- Encourages open, two-way communication.
- Supports the Branch and Department vision, mission, values, and goals.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the office budget processes.
- Complies with all system security, internal control, and employee safety requirements.
- May serve as office manager in the manager's absence.
- Acts as a coach and role model to members of the management team and to all staff.
Qualifications
This position allows for a hybrid telework schedule, which is subject to change under EDD’s telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California in order to telework. Employees may be required to report to their headquarters office as needed for operational needs, required scheduled in office days associated with the hybrid schedule, and other activities including but not limited to new employee training.
