What You'll Do
Avalara is transforming how businesses manage tax compliance through technology, partnerships, and innovation. As Director, Strategic Enterprise Partners, you will lead the global strategy for Avalara's most important enterprise partner ecosystems, helping drive revenue growth, customer success, and long-term partner profitability. You will work across Sales, Customer Loyalty, Marketing, Product, Business Development, and international teams to build and execute partner strategies that strengthen Avalara's market position and accelerate growth. This is a visible leadership role with influence on company strategy and business outcomes.
What Your Responsibilities Will Be
- Develop and execute a multi-year go-to-market strategy across strategic partner ecosystems.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key global partners.
- Led executive business reviews to align priorities, track performance, and drive accountability against shared goals.
- Create and manage joint business plans that support revenue growth, customer success, and partner profitability.
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to develop joint product roadmaps and ecosystem initiatives.
- Analyze ecosystem performance, identify trends, and develop action plans to improve results.
- Collaborate across teams to resolve partner and customer challenges and improve key business metrics.
- Drive strategic account planning and execution with global systems integrators, enterprise software providers, and consulting partners.
- Communicate progress, risks, and opportunities to executives across Avalara and partner organizations.
Pay Range Details
- Colorado: $136,400 - $225,000 [annually]
- Washington: $136,400 - $248,600 [annually]
- California: $136,400 - $272,500 [annually]
- NYC: $150,800 - $272,500 [annually]
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
- 15+ years of experience in strategy consulting, business development, go-to-market leadership, or strategic partnerships.
- 10+ years managing enterprise partnerships within ecosystems such as SAP, Workday, Oracle, Salesforce, NetSuite, Microsoft, systems integrators, or independent software vendors.
- Experience developing and executing cross-functional strategies that deliver measurable revenue growth and partner success.
- Experience using data to influence decisions, evaluate tradeoffs, and deliver business outcomes.
- Experience with enterprise software, financial technology platforms, product roadmapping, and complex global partner ecosystems.
- Demonstrated executive presence, relationship-building skills, and the ability to lead through influence in a matrixed global organization.
