Director Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery - $30-48 per hour
About the role
The Hospitals of Providence is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Labor and Delivery Director in El Paso, Texas. This role provides leadership and support to the senior executive position (CNO) responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization. The role assumes responsibility for assisting in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice on a multi-unit level, with 24/7 accountability for the Director’s assigned areas. The position supports the CNO to ensure high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and support to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) for all nursing and designated patient care functions/services
- Assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing practice on a multi-unit level
- Assume 24/7 responsibility for assigned areas
- Ensure high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care
- Maintain competency of clinical staff
- Manage resources appropriately related to patient care
- Serve as role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing
Requirements
- Active and current registered nurse license in the state of residence/practice
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven leadership ability and hospital operational ability
- Ability to serve as role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing
- Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy
- AHA BLS certification
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
- 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse/related position
