About the role

We are seeking a Director of Product Marketing with a strong B2B SaaS background to lead the team responsible for positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy across multiple product lines and business segments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing product marketing team to deliver measurable business impact.
  • Build and scale product marketing processes and standards that improve team alignment, efficiency, and accountability.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Demand Generation, Sales, and Sales Enablement to drive unified go-to-market execution.
  • Drive a customer-centric culture within the team to ensure messaging, positioning, and go-to-market strategies align with buyer motivations and challenges.
  • Develop and execute business segment strategies to increase market awareness, product adoption, and customer advocacy.
  • Implement AI tools and automation to increase operational efficiency and accelerate content and campaign delivery.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of tiered product launches, ensuring timely delivery of complete, standardized go-to-market materials.
  • Oversee creation and continuous improvement of messaging frameworks, positioning documents, and enablement content that support sales and customer success.
  • Lead customer and market research initiatives to uncover insights that inform positioning, segmentation, and content strategy.
  • Translate customer and market intelligence into actionable guidance for product, marketing, and sales teams to refine go-to-market plans.
  • Maintain a comprehensive view of competitive trends and market shifts to strengthen Vertafore’s differentiation and growth strategy.
  • Partner with Demand Generation to optimize the customer journey and deliver targeted programs by segment and persona.
  • Align go-to-market priorities with overall company strategy, partnering with senior leadership to support revenue and growth objectives.

Requirements

  • Proven success leading and developing high-performing teams across multiple products or business segments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in customer segmentation, buyer personas, and the full customer journey.
  • Skilled in competitive analysis, market research, and translating insights into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with technical and sales communities.
  • Project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • High performer who consistently meets/exceeds personal MBOs but thrives in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with AI tools and techniques, including prompting and leveraging GPTs, to enhance content creation, market analysis, and go-to-market efficiency.
