Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Responsibilities
- Direct the overall operations and staff of the Planning & Analysis department.
- Develop, implement, and manage operational goals; monitor performance and profit objectives.
- Ensure effective and efficient scheduling while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives, and achieving deadlines.
- Prepare, monitor, and adhere to budgets; ensure compliance with departmental budget initiatives.
- Report budget concerns or deviations to Executive Management/GM.
- Proactively seek margin enhancement opportunities and implement changes with relevant departments.
- Identify market trends and develop strategies to address potential concerns.
- Conduct short- and long-term financial analysis for the property, including labor and financial data reporting.
- Calculate profitability of marketing programs and analyze results to improve efficiency of marketing expenditures.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to the executive team.
- Oversee preparation of annual budgets; compare actual results to budget and prior year.
- Summarize key findings and present recommendations for improving EBITDA to executive management.
- Develop presentations for budget meetings and operational reviews; discuss analyses with high-level executives.
- Develop, maintain, and distribute key operating metrics to evaluate company objectives.
- Monitor labor costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies.
- Perform queries of various databases to extract data for analysis.
- Prepare ad-hoc analysis as needed.
- Support, promote, and demonstrate superior customer service; ensure standards are followed by all team members.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements within area of responsibility; report potential issues to Executive Management/GM.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university; MBA preferred.
- At least five years of casino industry experience preferred.
- Skilled in formal communication and executive-level presentations.
- Broad knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis.
- Experience with computer report writing software highly desirable.
- Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling experience essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Oracle ERP, Tableau, SQL, Salesforce, and other relevant systems preferred.
- Must qualify for all licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations in Nevada and New Mexico.
