Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Direct OSHA and corporate safety compliance programs, including HAZCOM, Bloodborne Pathogens, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, PPE, fire safety, and equipment training
- Lead the Safety Committee and develop materials for monthly meetings
- Coverage of corporate risk guidelines in the property's written safety program
- Coordinate with HR to assign return-to-work duties aligned with medical restrictions for workers’ compensation claims; report status changes to claims adjuster
- Facilitate investigation of guest incidents resulting in alleged injury, including generating incident reports and ensuring all relevant documentation and surveillance footage is preserved upon notice of an incident or a potential claim.
- Open workers’ compensation and general liability claims with third-party adjuster when appropriate and regularly monitor claims to ensure adequate reserve setting and facilitate resolution.
- Open claims/advise third-party adjuster when the property is served with general liability lawsuits and ensure defense counsel is assigned to represent the property’s interests in the litigation.
- Collaborate with claims adjusters, defense counsel and Corporate Legal on day-to-day management of and claims-handling strategy for workers’ compensation and general liability claims to recommend settlements and facilitate claim resolution in the property’s best interest.
- Collaborate with property/corporate Finance teams, claims adjusters and Corporate Legal to ensure adequate reserving for general liability and workers’ compensation claims; review reserves for open property claims on at least a quarterly basis.
- Manage property claim investigations, legal coordination, and litigation support for workers’ compensation and general liability claims; participate in quarterly claims reviews and update internal litigation tracking system on at least a quarterly basis for the property’s general liability litigation.
- Provide defense counsel and third-party adjuster with requested information needed from the property to investigate and evaluate worker’s compensation and general liability claims.
- Serve as liaison with legal teams and other properties; attend depositions, settlement conferences, mediations and trials as needed
- Manage property claim investigations, legal coordination, and litigation support for workers’ compensation and general liability claims; participate in quarterly claims reviews and update internal litigation tracking system on at least a quarterly basis for the property’s general liability litigation.

- Serve as liaison with legal teams and other properties; attend depositions, settlement conferences, mediations and trials as needed
- Maintain accurate records for general liability, workers' compensation, and OSHA compliance
- Manage certificates of insurance for contractors, vendors, and property assets including vehicles and special events
- Ensure property compliance with insurance program contractual obligations
- Verify contractor safety compliance and insurance documentation, including waivers and additional insured language
- Oversee EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) programs and contractor safety management
- Manage AED program, including inspections, maintenance, and CPR/AED training compliance
- Maintain and track compliance for all Greenlight risk/safety training
- Report potential issues to Executive Management/GM
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters
Qualification Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3–5 years of experience in risk/safety management; minimum 6 years of progressive responsibility in risk management, including claims resolution
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
- Strong working knowledge of risk management disciplines, including OSHA compliance, safety protocols, and training practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations
- Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public
- Strong math skills, including ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflicts diplomatically and tactfully

- Must qualify for all licensing and permit requirements as mandated by federal, state, and local regulations (Nevada and New Mexico)
- Valid Nevada OSHA 30 Certification
