Director, Paid Social
About the Role
We are seeking a Social Media Director who is a vocal and engaged leader, experienced in campaign management, and capable of carrying out strategy through structuring and planning. Directors manage Associate Directors and oversee holistic team members on their accounts, guiding teams toward individual and collective growth. Social Directors own the Social function for their clients and assist in leading the function regionally, developing paid media strategy, growing client business through additional Social channels, and ensuring team execution meets or exceeds client expectations.

Responsibilities
- Team Leadership
- Determine efficient use of Social resources and succession planning.
- Manage and lead all Social team members on client team(s).
- Identify training and development needs for client and broader functional teams.
- Build training materials and implement them effectively; gather consistent feedback.
- Develop processes, methodologies, best practices, and frameworks; ensure adoption.
- Consult with client teams to ensure best practices and brainstorm new approaches.
- Lead hiring for Social team members on client teams.
- Oversee onboarding of new clients within office location.
- Ensure integration with other functional teams.
- Serve as primary account contact for agency-wide social knowledge sharing.
- Grow Business
- Increase and expand paid media services for clients.
- Identify and test new channels/products; share results internally and externally.
- Align Social strategy with client’s overall business goals and merchandise impact.
- Assist business development team with pitches, providing oversight to junior members.
- Broader Agency Responsibilities
- Practice Development
- Develop new processes, strategies, and frameworks.
- Meet with client teams to identify new management approaches and optimization techniques.
- Pilot new approaches and refine them for viability.
- Collaborate with Content and Analytics leads to identify integration opportunities.
- Oversee alpha/beta tests, capture learnings, and share insights across teams.
- Provide oversight on testing, analysis, and merchandising of results.
- Lead development of POVs on new products and enhancements.
- Product & Service Development
- Identify and evaluate new external channels/products; recommend clients for testing.
- Assist with product marketing for existing Social services.
- Project manage development and testing of new products/services.
- Identify new products/services delivered by client teams for agency-wide potential.
- Partner Relations
- Technology
- Main point of contact for technology partners (competitive and campaign management).
- Identify and evaluate new technology providers; develop proposals for agency adoption.
- Update technology RFIs/comparisons periodically.
- Serve as point of escalation for technology-related issues.
- Ensure client teams are informed about new providers or updates.
- Act as subject matter expert for client teams, new business, and sister agencies.
- Social Networks
- Main point of contact for social networks.
- Serve as point of escalation for engine-related issues.
- Ensure client teams are informed of new products and enhancements.
- Coordinate presentations from providers for the Social team or broader agency.
- Coordinate QBRs from key engine partners.
- Coordinate with training lead on related certifications.
- Technology
- Practice Development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant post-secondary education, training, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of business experience, including 5+ years building and/or managing accounts in social marketing and/or interactive advertising.
- Proactive self-starter with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects.
- General knowledge of direct and brand marketing principles and strategies.
- Deep understanding of the interactive marketing landscape.
- Polished presentation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Online media sales and/or interactive ad agency experience.
- Ability to distinguish between features and benefits and deliver value.

Who You’ll Work With
You’ll collaborate closely with Social team members, strategy/planning teams, and report to the Client Business Lead. You’ll also work with the Digital Activation team (Search, Programmatic Video/Display) and wider media and marketing sciences teams to drive client business forward.
Pay
$90,000 - $215,000
Schedule
Omnicom requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, with potential for increased in-office requirements over time.
