About the role

We are seeking a Social Media Associate Director with experience in campaign management who is a vocal and engaged leader on their client and functional teams. Associate Directors are direct managers of the Social Supervisors and oversee the holistic team members on their account, taking responsibility for guiding their growth. Social Associate Directors own the Social function on their book of clients and assist in leading the function for their region, developing overall paid media strategy, growing the client’s business through additional Social channels, and ensuring team execution meets and exceeds client expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership
    • Determine how to use Social resources most efficiently
    • Effectively manage and lead all Social team members on client team(s)
    • Identify training and development needs of client team and broader functional team
    • Build training materials and implement them with feedback from teams
    • Develop processes, methodologies, best practices, and frameworks for client and functional teams
    • Consult with individual client teams to ensure best practices and brainstorm new approaches
    • Lead hiring process for Social team members on their client team
    • Oversee on-boarding of new clients within their office location
    • Ensure integration with other functional teams
  • Grow Business
    • Increase and expand paid media services for clients based on KPIs
    • Identify and test new channels and products, sharing results across the organization
    • Ensure Social strategy aligns with client’s overall business goals and merchandise impact
    • Assist business development team with pitches, providing oversight to junior team members
    • Contribute to broader agency responsibilities, including practice development, product & service development, and partner relations
  • Practice Development Training
    • Own Social portion of new hire training and onboarding, coordinating with HR
    • Ensure all training materials are up-to-date and trainings have presenters
    • Coach and evaluate presenters for effectiveness
    • Develop new trainings and update existing ones based on surveys and focus groups
    • Provide feedback for onboarding process and ensure certification exams are effective
    • Lead roll-out and adoption of new processes, strategies, and frameworks
  • Innovation
    • Identify and develop new processes, strategies, and frameworks
    • Meet with client teams to identify new management approaches and optimization techniques
    • Pilot new approaches with client teams to refine and ensure viability
    • Collaborate with Content and Analytics leads to identify integration opportunities
    • Oversee alpha/beta tests, ensuring learnings are captured and shared
    • Lead development of POVs related to new products and enhancements
  • Product & Service Development
    • Identify and evaluate new external channels and products
    • Recommend clients to test new channels and products
    • Maintain a central repository of information on channels/products, testing results, and recommendations
    • Assist with product marketing for existing Social services
    • Project manage development and testing of products and services
    • Identify new products/services delivered by client teams for agency-level potential
  • Partner Relations
    • Main point of contact for technology partners (competitive and campaign management)
    • Identify and evaluate new technology providers in the space
    • Develop proposals for new providers recommended for the agency
    • Maintain repository of information about technology partners
    • Update technology RFIs/comparisons periodically
    • Serve as point of escalation for technology-related issues
    • Ensure all client teams are informed about new providers or updates to existing technologies
    • Act as subject matter expert for client teams, new business, and sister agencies
    • Main point of contact for social networks
    • Oversee Insertion Order creation and process
    • Serve as point of escalation for engine-related issues
    • Manage logins and ensure compliance
    • Coordinate presentations from providers for the Social team or broader agency
    • Coordinate QBRs from key engine partners
    • Coordinate with training lead on related certifications
  • Client & Team Expectations
    • Refine Social Supervisors’ and team’s insights and actions to align with client goals
    • Develop cross-channel performance strategies across all objectives (brand awareness, consideration, conversion)
    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and partner updates
    • Proactively bring new opportunities and ideas to the team for broader business impact
    • Ensure proper communication between various agency capabilities and performance team
    • Lead day-to-day client communications

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant post-secondary education, training, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of business experience including hands-on keyboard building and/or managing accounts in paid social marketing and/or interactive advertising
  • Proactive self-starter with a passion for advertising and establishing yourself as a thought leader
  • General knowledge of direct and brand marketing principles and strategies
  • Deep understanding of the interactive marketing landscape
  • Polished presentation, communication, and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Online media sales and/or interactive ad agency experience
  • Ability to differentiate between features and benefits and deliver value

Who You’ll Partner With

You’ll work hand in hand with the social members on your team, partnering with the strategy/planning teams. Beyond your immediate team, you’ll collaborate with the rest of the Digital Activation team, including Search and Programmatic Video/Display, as well as the wider media and marketing sciences teams to drive your client’s business forward.

Pay

$140,000 - $160,000

Schedule

Omnicom’s policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, with potential for additional in-office days as directed by their agency or manager.
