Director OR Vice President, Earned Media
Who You Are + What You’ll Bring
- 6-8 years in earned media relations for Director
- 8+ years in earned media relations for VP
- (Ideally) NYC based and excited to be in-person with clients, teams and most of all PRESS for key connection points, meetings and moments
- Experience serving as the senior media lead on accounts; provide sound media counsel to brand + PR team leads as well as C-Suite level
- Strong proven experience in building thoughtful media relations strategies that go beyond block and tackle and the obvious solutions
- An expert in how to get earned media for brands in creative, innovative, and breakthrough ways that get clients excited, in both planned and opportunistic ways
- A positive attitude that brings insightful pivots and recommendations on how to improve mediability when needed
- Ability to provide feedback to teams with a “yes, and” mentality, providing clarity and builds on how to make ideas more media worthy
- An energetic and dynamic culture maven with a finger on the pulse of what’s being talked about in consumer media
- Ability to see what’s bubbling and come forward with ideas as to how to harness in a nimble and agile way
- A PASSION for earned press and maintaining your rolodex
- You have a LITANY of friends in media
- You spend your time with them outside of work, are personally connected and have deep relationships with ability to pick up the phone and call in requests/asks
- Your relationships consistently deliver strong press outputs within culture & entertainment outlets, men’s and women’s lifestyle media outlets, national press
- Willingness and excitement to:
- Travel once a month for client events as a press entertainer or for major client meetings - think music festivals, concert series, etc.
- Spend time beyond office hours maintaining your press relationships and reporting back to teams and clients on key intel, etc.
- An interest in working on spirits & beer brands, as well as CPG brands
- Experience wrangling press, photographers, talent etc. at big ticket events, moments, etc. to get the assets needed to translate into strong earned coverage
- Experience in media training for marketing/brand teams and celebrity spokespeople
- Experience in managing junior team members and leading a small media/pitch team during activation moments, ability to pivot and flex to ensure reaching KPIs

- SALARY:
- Director: $101,000 - 135,000
- VP: $136 - 165,000/year

Our Flexible Work Policy
We believe that our best work happens in a hybrid working environment. If you are in the NYC (or commutable surrounding distance) hub we want to see you in person 2 days a week. That could mean in our office, in our client's office, on the road with them or attending an industry event. For those outside the NYC hub, you will be asked to be in person too. Examples of this may include client meetings, events or team meetings. There will also be in person opportunities for you to connect with others who live in your hub to collaborate and work together.
