DIRECTOR OF WORKPLACE SERVICES
About the role
The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high‑quality drinking water, managing wastewater and stormwater, and reducing air, noise, and hazardous materials pollution. DEP is the largest combined municipal water and wastewater utility in the country, with nearly 6,000 employees. Its water supply system comprises 19 reservoirs and 3 controlled lakes across a 2,000‑square‑mile watershed extending 125 miles north and west of the City. The Division of Facilities Management and Construction (FMC) provides real estate, facilities management, construction, and workplace design services to all other mission‑critical bureaus within the agency. FMC’s mission is to support the DEP community through efficient stewardship of facilities infrastructure and real‑estate properties in support of the agency’s operational goals and its larger mission to protect public health and the environment. The division serves over 50 different properties in DEP’s portfolio—leased and city‑owned—within the City’s boundaries and upstate within the watershed zone. FMC is seeking a motivated Administrative Space Analyst to join the team as Director of Workplace Services. The Administrative Space Analyst will oversee a team of architects and engineers providing design services for agency needs, including renovation of work and support spaces (corporate offices and warehouses), building‑systems upgrades, and furniture and office‑technology upgrades. The role also involves overseeing management of the agency’s space portfolio to track occupancy levels and designated tenant bureaus, advising leadership on short‑ and long‑term strategies to optimize space use, improve workspace quality, and reduce reliance on leased property. The Director will work closely with FMC’s Construction Services Unit to coordinate implementation and execution of construction projects designed under the Director’s supervision,
