Director of Product Management – Revenue Cycle AI
About the role
Carex is partnering with an AI-powered RCM Healthtech startup partner to identify a US-based Director of Product Management with deep healthcare domain expertise and a passion for advancing AI-driven solutions that transform healthcare operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of Health Information Management (HIM), coding, and revenue cycle workflows
- Translate customer needs, operational challenges, and compliance requirements into scalable product solutions
- Incorporate clinical documentation workflows, DRG/CPT/ICD coding logic, denial trends, payer behaviors, and regulatory considerations into product strategy
- Identify repeatable patterns across customer implementations to drive product standardization and scalability
- Reduce reliance on custom implementations by building configurable, reusable product features
- Champion an AI-first product mindset, embedding intelligent automation into core workflows
- Partner cross-functionally with customers, compliance leaders, implementation teams, operations, and engineering to deliver high-impact solutions
- Act as a key liaison between US market dynamics and globally distributed R&D teams
- Support product prioritization decisions with a focus on scalability, customer value, and operational efficiency
- Contribute to strengthening product culture and product thinking across the organization
Requirements
The role requires a deep expertise in healthcare revenue cycle management, including mid-cycle functions. Strong experience in coding, Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), HIM, or revenue integrity workflows is essential. A thorough understanding of provider operations and coding/compliance environments is also necessary. Proven ability to work with enterprise healthcare customers and translate real-world workflows into product solutions is required. Strong product instincts with experience building scalable, enterprise-grade products are needed. Demonstrated ability to balance customization needs with long-term product scalability is important. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams across product, engineering, operations, and customer-facing roles is beneficial. A clear point of view on productization, workflow design, and how AI can drive efficiency, quality, and value at scale is desired. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly in bridging technical and non-technical audiences, are crucial.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as healthcare informatics, business administration, or a related discipline. A master’s degree or additional relevant certifications may be preferred. Relevant work experience in healthcare technology, product management, or a related field is highly valued. A minimum of 8 years of experience in product management or a similar role is expected. Leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving product development is advantageous.

The successful candidate should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills. They should be adept at working with data and metrics to inform product decisions. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
