Responsibilities

• Serve as the local chief executive agent.
• Lead the local provider(s) in improving community care and contribute to the overall success of the company.
• Ensure the execution of daily operations.
• Manage ongoing operations, services, personnel performance, and office management.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed physician, registered nurse, or possess a bachelor’s degree.
• Must have demonstrated experience in health service administration with at least one year in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
• Must not have been employed in the last year as an administrator with another operation at the time any enforcement action was taken against the business.
• Must have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulatory guidelines governing home care operations.
• Must have intermediate technology skills, including operation of a mobile device.

Preferred Education and Experience

• A licensed physician, registered nurse, licensed social worker, licensed therapist, or a licensed nursing home administrator with at least one year of management and supervisory experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Previous experience in a home health care or hospice program is preferred.

  • A master’s degree in nursing with an active license and at least one year of supervisory or administrative experience in a health care facility.
  • A master’s degree in public health or administration with a concentration in health services administration and at least one year of supervisory or administrative experience in a health care facility.
  • A bachelor’s degree in nursing with an active license and at least two years of supervisory or administrative experience in a health care facility.
  • A bachelor’s degree in administration with a concentration in health services administration and at least two years of supervisory or administrative experience in a health care facility.
  • A physician licensed to practice medicine and surgery in Connecticut with at least one year of supervisory or administrative experience in a health care facility.
  • Continuous employment as an administrator of a home health care agency as of January 1, 1981, or January 1, 1979 (with additional requirements after January 1, 1986).
  Must be administrator for only one agency.
• Delaware: Must have a bachelor’s degree with five years of home health care experience and one year of supervisory experience, or be a registered nurse with five years of health care experience and one year of supervisory experience.
• Florida: Must be administrator for only one agency, or manage up to five agencies within one geographic service area or immediate contiguous counties with identical controlling interest.
• Georgia: No additional state-specified education or experience requirements.
• Idaho: No additional state-specified education or experience requirements.
• Illinois: Must have at least one year of supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or a related health provider program, or meet the requirements for a public health administrator.
