Director of Operations

About the role

We are seeking a Director of Operations to join our thriving construction company. This leadership role will be instrumental in driving our organization's strategic growth, operational efficiency, and profitability. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of construction operations, including planning, management, materials, finances, and financials.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day operations of the construction projects ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Develop and implement strategic operational plans in line with the company's growth objectives.
• Manage and coordinate the procurement of materials, ensuring optimal cost-effectiveness and quality.
• Oversee financial management of the projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, promoting innovative approaches to operational challenges.
• Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and maintain high standards of health and safety across all operations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a positive working environment.
• Collaborate with other department heads to align operational activities with business objectives.
• Regularly report to the CEO and Board of Directors on operational performance and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. An advanced degree will be an added advantage.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior operations role within the construction industry.
• Proven experience in strategic planning and execution, operational management, and financial management.
• In-depth knowledge of construction operations, including materials, project management, and financial aspects.
• Exceptional leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions based on data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in using construction management software and other related technology.
• Strong commitment to health and safety standards in the workplace.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

Pay

Salary: $200,000 - $250,000 per year
