About the role

This Director of Human Resources opportunity allows you to lead HR operations, support the workforce, and partner closely with leadership in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role blends strategic HR leadership with day-to-day operational involvement, perfect for someone who understands the realities of manufacturing and enjoys being visible and engaged on the floor.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full HR function at the site level, balancing strategy with execution
  • Lead recruitment strategy and hiring for a manufacturing workforce
  • Manage employee relations, performance management, and workplace concerns
  • Guide disciplinary actions and ensure fair, consistent practices
  • Identify training needs and implement development programs
  • Oversee compensation and benefits administration
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, policies, and regulations
  • Maintain HR documentation, reporting, and HRIS accuracy
  • Lead and support the HR team, setting clear priorities and direction
  • Serve as a trusted HR partner to plant and operational leadership

Requirements

  • 7+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience handling employee relations and compliance issues
  • SHRM or PHR certification
  • Strong HRIS experience
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion
  • Congfident, practical leadership style — comfortable making decisions
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable working on-site in an operational setting
