Director of Housekeeping
About the role
We are looking for a Director of Housekeeping to join our management team and lead our Housekeeping Department. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in a large hotel, with Marriott brand experience being a plus. Key responsibilities include hiring and leading the Housekeeping staff, ensuring excellent quality of service to guests, managing finances, analyzing data, and distributing workloads.
Responsibilities
- Hire and lead the Housekeeping staff to ensure excellent quality of service to our guests.
- Provide clear direction in assigning and instructing housekeeping and laundry staff in details of work.
- Plan, organize, and monitor staff activities to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards set by the hotel.
- Ensure continuous visual inspection of guest rooms and public space areas including restaurants, lounges, meeting rooms, etc.
- Manage finances of housekeeping and laundry operations including budget and inventory controls.
- Analyze data and compile reports on expenditures, wages, labor, supplies, etc., in relation to hotel financial forecasts and budget.
- Establish and maintain adequate supplies for efficient operation of the department.
- Distribute and delegate work load to guarantee maximum production and guest satisfaction with minimum outlay of expenses in terms of labor and monitor house count and make staffing adjustments accordingly.
Requirements
The successful candidate should have excellent communication and leadership skills, take pride in providing excellent service and high level of cleanliness of the rooms for our guests, and have a great attention to detail. A passion for the industry and providing quality service to customers is also essential. Flexibility in working various shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends, is preferred.
Qualifications
Experience in a large hotel, with Marriott brand experience being a plus. Excellent communication and leadership skills, attention to detail, and a passion for the industry are required. Flexibility in working various shifts is preferred.
